Message from Dr Ian Oppermann, Director, CSIRO and PIMRC'12 General Chair

It is my great pleasure to invite you to join Australia's telecommunications thought leaders at the annual IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC'12), being held in Sydney Australia, from 9 - 12 September 2012. PIMRC'12 will feature guest keynotes from Ericsson Australia and New Zealand CEO Dr Håkan Eriksson, NBN Co CTO Gary McLaren, and Optus Networks MD Günther Ottendorfer.

For the first time in its 23 year history PIMRC be will held in the Southern Hemisphere, and we are delighted to be given the honour of organising the event. The host city Sydney is a perfect location for PIMRC'12. Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and is graced with one of the most beautiful harbours in the world. Sydney is known for its harbour lifestyle and fantastic beaches, which contribute to a relaxed environment that pervades the city and its visitors. Sydney was of course host to the 2000 Olympic Games and the 2003 Rugby World Cup.

The conference committee has been working hard to ensure a high quality technical program, a well-run event and an exciting social program that will allow you to have a productive and memorable stay in this magnificent city.
